A History That Spans Four Decades.

Tropic Plastic & Packaging Industry was founded and established in 1963 by the late Mr E.M Bhabha. His vision was to provide quality packaging materials coupled with personalised service excellence at an affordable price.

The core business is manufacturing of polyethelene films and its derivatives, printing and converting of flexible packaging in various forms.

Today, Tropic Plastic has grown to be one of the most modern and well equipped plastic packaging converters in Southern Africa.

Continuous research and product development to meet with latest European technologies and customised high speed machinery is evident at the manufacturing plant, based in Jacobs, and industrial area in the south of Durban, Kwazulu Natal.

State of the art machinery include mono and multi-layer co-extrusion, flexographic line and detail process printing to 8 colours, bag conversion in different forms together with slitting capabilities. Coupled with its skilled workforce, Tropic is capable of handling a complete and diversified range of films and bags, to fulfill the requirements of discerning customers.
